Helpful Websites
This webpage features categories of helpful websites that I use to supplement my teaching. The website categories are communication, reading, math, and free time.
Communication

ClassDojo is a website and app that students and parents can use to communicate with teachers and administration at the school. Students can use a portfolio feature of ClassDojo that allows them to create a drawing, record a video, take a photo, write text, and complete worksheets. Anything that students submit can be viewed by the school staff and parents.

SchoolTron is an app that allows teachers to dismiss students from school and communicate with parents. Schools can use SchoolTron during a carline dismissal process by scanning a QR code that identifies a student then automatically sends a message to the teacher that the parent is there for pickup. Schools can use SchoolTron to send school-wide messages to all parents.

GoGuardian is a website that school staff members can use to communicate with the students while a student is using a school-issued electron device such as a Chromebook. Staff members are able to instant message chat with the students as well as control the device. For example, teachers can open and close internet browser tabs on students' devices.

Clever is a website that teachers can use as a home-base for the various websites that students need to daily access. Clever will save all of the website's passwords for each student. The student uses Clever as a single sign-on home base. Teachers can also use Clever to instant message with students or send out announcements and share files.
Reading

Raz Kids is a website that has an extensive digital library of books for students. Raz Kids has leveled books for all reading levels. Each book allows the student to read on their own, listen to the story, and take a quiz about the story. Students can record themselves reading the books for the teacher to use as a fluency assessment.

Epic! Books is a website that provides a digital library to students. Epic not only features books but also comics, videos, and audiobooks. Epic! Books has leveled books for each reader to be able to challenge themselves. Teachers can also use Epic! Books for read-alouds in case they do not have the book with them.
Math

Prodigy is a math game for students to practice math skills while they challenge other math students by answering the questions correctly. Students are able to create a character that they use to battle other math students. If they answer the question correctly, they can use that to fight their opponent.

iReady is a website that allows students to practice math and reading skills based on initial diagnostic test results. Students receive individualized lessons that tailor to their math and reading needs. iReady also is used for classrooms that use the Ready Math curriculum. Teachers are able to assign math comprehension checks on iReady's website.
Free Time

ABCYa is a website that has educational games that align with Common Core State Standards for grades Pre-K-5. The various games are based on letters, words, numbers, math, skills, strategies, and holidays. Students can use this website when there is free time in the school day. Students will enjoy playing games while learning at the same time.

PBS Kids is a website that students can use to play educational games and watch educational videos. Students are able to learn life skills from the various videos. Students are able to play educational games that will supplement their learning in school subjects such as reading, phonics, math, life skills, social skills, and social emotional learning.
